This video gives an overview of all the key features in Recordcast. You can access this online application on any device via the website www.recordcast.com
Recordcast is a free online screen recorder that includes an editor with elements, text effects and overlays! Still in Beta, but already an amazing application to check out and it doesn’t require you to download anything! I’ve really enjoyed using this one for basic video on instructional video and in regards to recording length, you can record up to 30min! More than enough for most video instructions and lessons.
Check out the video and makes sure you let me know when you do try out Recordcast.
For an instructional recording, I would plan the narration in short sections that each explain one visible action, then leave a little silence between sections for easier editing. Before a longer take, record ten seconds using the exact tab/window selection and microphone settings; check that the intended demonstration is captured and any private presenter notes are not. Disclosure: I work on Voice Prompter, the script-display project in my website field. It is a separate aid for narration preparation, not a replacement for RecordCast or its editor, and I have not tested their integration.
This is an amazing tool! I can’t believe I hadn’t heard about it sooner. Thanks for sharing, Sethi!
